Ricardo Fumanal - an artist and famous fashion illustrator is known for his hyperrealist representations linked to fashion, beauty and eroticism. His work consists of classical techniques using graphite and color pencils. His recent works explore the eroticism of the male body through the fetishisation of sport garments after they have been worn.
First, studying graphic design in Barcelona, he then proceeded to focus on hand-drawn illustration and digital design, landing his long-standing collaboration with leading Spanish publication, El Mundo. Ricardo has been experimenting with quite a few different techniques and style. He looks at the narratives of sexuality and sensuality, and the similarities and contrasts between the two. He likes being able to explore desire in all its different forms, combining traditional symbols of desire with unusual or even humorous elements in the same composition.
As he lived between Paris, Barcelona, Madrid and London, Ricardo has come to embrace a broad range of projects, such as advertising campaigns, fashion brand collaborations on textile prints and accessories and fine-art shows in galleries with original works and prints.
